<More about the closure of Global Hardstyle>
Opinions about the state of Hardstyle are still divided and are continuing
to remain an active battleground on many sites throughout the internet.
Happily to say GHF is no longer one of them.
After three years of witnessing the endless mud throwing between supporters
of hardstyle vs. nu-style it was the right decision to pull the plug and
bring clarity into matters. GHF has never been supportive towards nu-style
as it is a commercial product that has destroyed the music we loved most.
What's even worse is that the big artists, labels and organisations are
still abusing the term hardstyle for music that's far from similar to its
roots. No one can deny that the music on events current day is light years
away from the sound that once represented hardstyle and we've seen numerous
of loyal GHF members disappear in great disappointment and disgust of the
music that is currently dominating the "hardstyle events" on a global
level. Many long time fans of hardstyle and GHF members from the very start
feel extremely betrayed that their favourite music has been eradicated and
replaced by something that is totally opposite of the positive vibes they
used to have when hearing the word hardstyle.
Resistance is growing visibly in many places on the internet as we see more
and more people growing tired of the nu-style hype and realising that the
only key to the future of hardstyle is having a fair balance between the
original sound of it and the commercial pulp that the big labels and
organisations so badly want to play. In the hardcore scene it is very
common to have 3 or 4 different styles on events like Thunderdome or
Masters of Hardcore ranging from mainstream to industrial to oldschool to
terror. Why can't this be done with hardstyle? Hardstyle is now 10 years
old, it would be time to accept segregation and sub genres within the genre
at bare minimum.
Instead we're seeing 3 areas playing the same Teletubbie circus music on
events like Defqon. Appalling to say the least.
Feel free to join our Facebook protest group "We Want Our Hardstyle Back"
if you support our cause.

Many users still seem to be confused. The forum is closed but why are the
other sub forums open? Well simply because the Off-Topic and Country forums
are shared within the other 3 portals. Keeping them open gives die-hard GHS
users that are addicted to the blue/orange template a chance to keep on
seeing these areas in their favourite colours.
On top of that, there is a limited group of users that still has access to
GHS the way it used to be. We are using the sub forum to discuss our
approach towards reclaiming the hardstyle genre and bringing our music back
to where it belongs. The very few remaining true hardstyle releases that
are coming out in 2010 are discussed as well as support being given to
young talents that want to push their efforts in creating real hardstyle.
Also we're having the opportunity to discuss the various scandals and
corruption within the industry in more detail without risking claims for
law suits or having nosy people peeking around that are keen to use the
information against us.
If you are interested in gaining access then drop an e-mail to
[email protected] but please note: selection criteria are extremely strict.
You will only be allowed if you have a reputation within the site or scene,
friendship with one of the moderators and a true heart for hardstyle. This
means newcomers and nu-stylers are not welcomed as the chances are too high
that conflicts would arise.
