TakkU, I understand what you mean... but also know that I'm a fan of the music, just like the rest of you
I don't make this music because I sit there and go "I want to make a song that will attract people who don't really like this music and make them like it"... All along, most of my work comes from "I want to do something a hardstyle/hardcore fan will appreciate as a hardstyle/hardcore song to listen to". I mean, rather than singing like Beyonce or something in a club style voice, I tried to incorporate more hard/powerful/darker or even ethereal themes (like Son of Torture lyrics, or Promises, or Poltergeist).
At the end of it all, I wanted to write/compose music that a hardstyle/hardcore fan could listen to and be like "That's hardstyle, and when I repeat this phrase it's coming straight from a hardstyle track -- not a rap sample, or acapella from an 80s tune" or something. And if he's going to sing along to it, that he can know he's not just singing a rip off of another genre, but that he's got something distinct. It's more than just "something to listen/dance to" for a lot of you guys, just as it is for me when I was strictly a fan/listener, so it's what I always tried to respect regardless of what I did.
It's entirely possible for vocal based stuff to not appeal to the commercial masses, but still be successful...
