"Ciao partypeople! It's been a while since my last update, but the last weeks really have been a rollercoaster. I collected enough Air miles to go on a well-deserved holiday, but unfortunately 'spare time' disappeared from my dictionary. It's already weekend again which means gigs are on the agenda and I'm not even recovered from last Tuesday, when I was playing in Club Le Spirit in France. Honestly, I didn't put my hopes up high since I had so many amazing and unforgettable gigs the last weeks, but this one also turned out to be fantastic. And I can say the same about my gigs in the UK, Russia and Spain, where I had the best night of '10 Years of Technoboy' so far. It's unbelievable to see what is happening with hardstyle outside the borders of Holland. We still have 1,5 month to go before the new year starts but I already know what my wish for 2010 will be: that the enthusiasm of the people in all these different countries will spread to that little land once covered by waters. The Dutchies have the best parties in the world but it seems sometimes they take them for granted. Don't forget to dance people, 'cause that is what we DJ's live for. Give us your energy and we will return it!
Luckily, I know the euphoria I'm in since my last gigs will last a little longer, because next week it will be the climax of the year for many visitors and artists in the GelreDome. Q-dance like no other knows that the Dutch crowd is used to receiving the best and the best only, so they have to exceed themselves year in year out. What they have in mind for this year is insane and this will for sure surprise every visitor. This is a good thing about a country like Holland, where dance has become second nature for most people: the selective crowd demands all music producers to keep improving themselves. We need to stay innovative to keep the music alive! In my news message of 15-06 I spoke to you about my remix of Rock Civilization and how much I loved doing something different. I didn't name that Technoboy's Undersound Mix for no reason: I knew I wanted to take this further by developing a whole new sound in order to create a revolution in hardstyle as we know it! I bet you all know how hardstyle originated: from a kick and a bass. The kick is essential in hardstyle, but the last years this music is getting harder and harder and therefore the kick isn't always as intense as it could (or should) be. I was inspired by the Lento Violento of Gigi D'Agostino and I just knew that the combination of these styles would do magic on the dancefloor. And who else could better express this magic than the number one MC: Ruffian?
Dear fans, you have every right to be critical and demanding. But please, step outside of the box for once as well. I'm checking if you dare to open your mind, so you will understand these two worlds combined…
Does this generation of kick and bass still knows what it's like to really FEEL a kick? After Qlimax, the answer will be 'yes'.
7 days to go 'til Qlimax.
