'Hey, lets do a remix.' 3 dagen later is ie klaar -__-
Als je na zoveel jaar ervaring niet binnen 3 dagen een remix kan maken doe je 't niet echt goed. En zoveel is er ook niet veranderd. Ik zie het meer als een verbetering dan een remix eigenlijk, maar zijn beide wel lekker

A remix is easy to do in a few hours if you've already got a solid technique and bank of sounds.
I did the 'Undersound' remix from 10pm and finished it at around 9am. 11 hours straight with nothing but headphones and twitter to keep me company haha. Same with the 'Part of The Hard' Remix I did for DBSTF - it took 10 hours, I slept for a bit then caught a flight to an interstate gig the week before Corey and I moved to NL. I guess its a bit crazy, but I find stuff like that kinda fun.
The thing with remixes is you don't have to think too hard because the main idea is already set out for you. So long as you continually refer to the original to try and capture the spirit of it while putting your own twist on it, its not as hard as you think.
There's something about drinking a metric butt-load of coffee, setting a crazy deadline and then doing your best to meet it. Its exhilarating and fun. Its a challenge and I love that kind of pressure.
Of course, I do my best to keep a balance between finishing something quickly and keeping a high standard of quality.
I guess I did this remix because I already had finished the intro 'Sytris Major Planum' and had planned this big promo mix of what I've done in the last 12 months. I wanted the intro to go into a track that I felt defined what Audiofreq is about, I read a lot of complaints about the kick in the original 'Lose Control' so I wanted to update it with all the knowledge that I have learnt over the past year and thought it would be a nice way to kick off the promo mix.
