A decade of dance evolution stood the test of time.
It's 1998 and it was finally time for the age of reverse bass.
Some people will say Mauro Picotto developed the typical round 'whoomp' sound, others will say Flamman & Abraxas was the first with their track Used & Abused back in 1995. But this typical sound became a trademark of what is known now as the genre 'Early Hardstyle'.
Mauro Picotto used this sound quite often and so other Italian dj's, Hardtrance dj's from Germany, Hardhouse producers from the UK and the Netherlands copied the sound. And from this mixture of music, came the birth of Hardstyle. Q-Dance coined this name in 2002, made from the words 'hardcore' and 'oldstyle'. Q-Dance started these uptempo events after the glory days of Hardcore in 2001, to fill in the gap. People were in need of something new, fresh and exciting and Q-Dance answered the call successfully.
